• Do Indian citizens need a transit visa when traveling to United Kingdom?

  If you pass through border control, you'll need a UK transit visa unless you're exempt. You'll need to pass through UK border control if you:

  1. Leave the main airport building
  2. Collect and recheck your bags
  3. Your onward flight departs on a different day than your arrival
  4. There's no place to stay overnight in the airport

  You may not need a transit visa if:

  • You arrive and leave by air with a confirmed onward flight before midnight the next day.
  • You're traveling to/from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or the USA and have a valid visa or residence permit from those countries or the EEA.
  • You have a valid Irish biometric visa or a US Permanent Resident card.

  Always check with your airline if you're unsure about passing through border control.

• Does the UK provide Visa on Arrival for Indians?

  Indian passport holders are not eligible for a visa on arrival in the UK. Instead, they are required to apply for a regular UK visa prior to their travel to the UK.

• What is the processing time for UK tourist visa?

  UK visa can take anywhere between 3–5 weeks after you submit your application and send us all the required documents. We recommend you apply well in advance to receive your visa on time.

• What is the process for obtaining a UK visa for Indians?
  1. Click on the 'Start UK visa application' button.
  2. Choose the appropriate 'Type of visa.'
  3. Provide your basic personal information.
  4. Proceed to make the payment, which can be either a full or partial payment.
  5. Complete the 'Visit details' section, upload all required documents, and submit your application.
  6. After submission, a dedicated TMS relationship manager will be assigned to your application.
  7. Your relationship manager will review your documents and contact you within 24 hours.
  8. All required documents will be uploaded by TMS on the embassy portal.
  9. You will be required to visit the visa center with your passport, appointment confirmation, and a checklist.
  10. Following your appointment, you have the option to have your passport couriered to your location or pick it up in person from the visa center.
• How do I check the status of my application?

  You can track your UK visa application using the reference number/passport number and your last name. You can find the reference number on the receipt provided to you upon submitting your documents at the visa application center.

• How long can I stay in UK with my tourist visa?

  UK Tourist visa grants a stay of up to 180 days in the UK.

• Does my UK visa allow multiple entries?

  Only the Standard Visitor visa allows multiple entries, permitting departures and returns using the same valid visa.

• Where do I have to upload my document for a sticker visa for UK as an Indian?

  Upload your documents through the TMS portal. Subsequently, TMS will ensure updates are reflected on the embassy website.

  Applicants are required to bring the following when attending the appointment:

  • Passport
  • Appointment confirmation document
  • Document checklist
• Is my UK visa part of Schengen visa?

  No, the UK is not part of the Schengen area.

• Can I work in the UK with a visitor visa?

  No, you cannot work in the UK with a visitor visa. If you want to work in the UK, you need to apply for a work visa.

• Will my Schengen Visa work in London?

  Traveling to the UK with only a Schengen visa is not possible. The UK is separate from the Schengen zone and maintains its own distinct visa regulations. To enter the UK, obtaining a UK visa is necessary.
