Singapore work visas for professionals

Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass (ONE Pass)

Provides employment flexibility by allowing qualified applicants to start, operate, and work simultaneously for multiple companies in Singapore.

Eligibility criteria โ€“ Salary condition: Existing work pass holders and foreign candidates can apply if they earn a fixed monthly wage of at least SGD 30,000 within the last year, or from a future Singaporeโ€‘based employer. Overseas candidates must also prove employment with an established foreign company for at least one year or will work for an established Singapore company.

Singapore work visas for skilled and semiโ€‘skilled workers

  • S Pass: For midโ€‘level skilled workers with monthly salary at least SGD 2,300. Quotas and levies apply.
  • Work Permit for Foreign Workers: For overseas workers from specific countries in sectors like construction, manufacturing, process, marine shipyard, services.
  • Work Permit for Foreign Domestic Workers (FDW): Age 23โ€“50 from specific countries (India, Indonesia, etc.).
  • Work Permit for confinement nanny: For Malaysian nannies, up to 16 weeks. Employer pays levy.
  • Work Permit for performing artists: For public entertainment outlets (bars, hotels, nightclubs). Quota and levy apply.

Singapore work visas for trainees and students

  • Training Employment Pass: For foreigners undergoing training in Singapore up to 3 months. No levy/quota.
  • Work Holiday Pass: For nationals aged 18โ€“25 (18โ€“30 for Australia) from Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, UK, USA. Validity 6 months (1 year for Australians). Nonโ€‘renewable, once only.
  • Training Work Permit: For unskilled/semiโ€‘skilled overseas trainees, practical training up to 6 months.

Shortโ€‘term work passes for Singapore

Miscellaneous Work Pass allows work up to 60 days (e.g., journalists, speakers). Foreign students on Study Visa may work under certain conditions.

Process of applying for a Singapore work visa

You need a job offer first. Your employer or an Employment Agency (EA) submits the work visa application via EP Online on Ministry of Manpowerโ€™s (MOM) website.

Steps to apply for a Singapore work visa

Register at Employment Pass Services Centre (EPSC) within 2 weeks
