Types of Permanent Residency Visa

Listed below are the popular options. Most offer a long‑term visa for the applicant, spouse, and children. The visa can be converted to citizenship in most cases. Free education for children, healthcare, retirement benefits, and visa‑free travel are some of the reasons people choose to immigrate.

Popular

Skilled Immigration

Points‑based. Most people below the age of 51, with an occupation listed on each country’s list, 2+ years of work experience, and good English / French are eligible. It is the most popular way of settling overseas.

State / Territory

State/Territory/Province Sponsored

Similar to skilled immigration, but your occupation must be listed on the state/territory list. This long‑term visa converts to PR and then citizenship.

Employer

Employer‑Based Immigration

Very popular across most countries. Candidates who find a full‑time job with an overseas employer are eligible. TMS offers job search services to help you market yourself to overseas employers.

Family

Family Migration

Some countries offer permanent residency to anyone who has a parent, sibling, uncle, aunt, or first cousin overseas. The sponsoring relative must be a citizen or PR of that country.

Investment

Investment Migration

Many countries offer a temporary or PR visa in exchange for an investment. Amounts can range from $50,000 to $500,000 or more.
